Small UAV Coalition goes to 'The Hill' to engage with Congress/FAA
Washington DC, January 22, 2015– HAZON Solutions (HAZON), the leader in Unmanned Aerial Vehicle management consulting announced today their acceptance onto the Board of Directors for the Small UAV Coalition. This coalition is leading the lobbying effort to promote the safe integration of small UAV (sUAV) into the National Airspace System (NAS) and support commercial services such as infrastructure inspections, precision agriculture flights and emergency response missions. HAZON made an immediate impact during Coalition meetings with FAA Administrator Huerta, Senators and Congressmen by stressing the need to “open the skies for US [companies] to capitalize on this emerging capability,” stated Rafael Collado, HAZON Co-Founder.
“These interactions with our lawmakers and the FAA leadership are essential for the future success of the US sUAV industry” stated HAZON President Sean Cushing.
European, Canadian and Australian sUAV companies number in the thousands and have been operating commercially for more than 2 years while the United States waits for finalized regulations from the FAA. In France alone, there are more than 600 companies performing UAV services, some as close as 1 mile from Charles de Gaulle airport in Paris.
“The FAA has to provide the regulations to allow for safe, legal use of sUAVs as soon as possible,” says Cushing. “The technology has been tested and proven, HAZON is tested and proven and our customers are ready and eager to integrate sUAVs into their daily operations. The benefit will be a dramatic increase in personal safety to their workers and economic efficiencies good for the entire company. Our task now is to relay this message to our lawmakers and the FAA and offer to be part of the solution.”
