HAZON CEO Lectures at First EPRI UAS Conference
Charlotte, NC – The Electric Power Research Institute, Inc. (EPRI) invited HAZON CEO David Culler, Jr. to address the conference and share the lessons learned and best practices developed during their 1000+ inspections performed in 2015. The Electric Power Research Institute, Inc. conducts research, development and demonstration (RD&D) relating to the generation, delivery and use of electricity for the benefit of the public. The focus of the two-day conference was to bring industry experts together to share practices, technologies and ideas.
"This was a great opportunity to present an example of how UAV’s have made a difference in the Energy sector already. We [HAZON] have more than 10000 man-hours conducting UAS (Unmanned Aerial Systems) operations since receiving our ‘333 Waivers." David Culler, HAZON CEO and Co-Founder, stated.
"Having both Dominion [Virginia] Power and Duke Energy present the results from the work we [HAZON] did for them in 2015 was very rewarding. The response from the other companies attending the conference has been overwhelming." Sean Cushing, HAZON President and Co-Founder.
When asked about how this conference was different from others he had been to Andrew Phillips, director of UAV research for EPRI said, “It was really targeted” and therefore “…a lot of value came out of it.”
